I was reminded this past Sunday that God desires for us to step out of the familiar into the unfamiliar. It's so much easier to say than do, yet life becomes so much more when we act in obedience and step out in faith. TrueNorth Decatur exists because God was challenging me about a year ago to do more than I was doing. It wasn't an easy step to change from something that was so familiar, like student ministry, and venture out to the unfamiliar and start a new church. But I'm so thankful that I have followed in obedience.
What about you? What has God placed on your heart in the last year, last month, or last week? Are you acting in obedience or are you afraid of the unfamiliar? Steve reminded us this past Sunday that as we follow the dream God places in our hearts, we are responsible to be faithful during the days, weeks, and months of pursuit. We must be careful to follow the little details as we continue to follow the big dream.
I look forward to this Sunday as we continue to follow the journey of Moses and learn about "Overcoming the Dream Robbers"! I hope you will be here THIS Sunday!
Easter is right around the corner and I am pumped about our first Easter together! It's going to be an outstanding service! Start praying and anticipating God to do something BIG! GOD WILL SHOW UP, WILL YOU?
Have a great week!

Yes, it's that time of year, when basketball fans go crazy! I love this time of year, especially when the Illini make the "big dance"! I also love this time of the year because the weather begins to change, trees and flowers begin to bloom, and life begins all over again!
We are less than four weeks away from the celebration of an event that changed life forever. Yes, Easter is quickly approaching and I am so glad we serve a RISEN Savior!! I'm looking forward to TNC Decatur's first Easter together! I hope you will begin with me to start praying and inviting friends and neighbors to come see what TrueNorth is all about and how we serve and worship a God that can change lives forever!
This past Sunday, Steve continued the Supernatural Series with the message, "Stuff Dreams Are Made Of".
He did a great job of reminding us that our ordinary skills and abilities become extraordinary as we surrender them to God to accomplish his purposes not our own. Alone, we will never accomplish the dreams he has for us. Only by opening and surrendering our hearts to his desires can we embrace the dream he has for our life. Have you surrendered your heart? If not, I hope you make that decision today! Don't miss week 3 this Sunday!
I hope you get out and enjoy the nice weather! And don't forget to INVEST in relationships this week and INVITE them to TrueNorth this Sunday! Happy fishing!

Yes, we have had two outstanding Sunday services in a row! I was a little worried about the time change and how that would affect people getting up and coming to a new church, but we had around 10 new visitors this past Sunday. AWESOME!! We finally had some warm weather and the rain stayed away! Thank you Lord!
Our new series, SUPERNATURAL - a dream series, started this past Sunday. Steve began the series with the message, God's Dream for You, reminding us that no matter who you are, no matter what your age and no matter what you've done, God has a dream for you. We were created by God to accomplish his will and desire for our life. We are uniquely created by God to fulfill the dream He has for our life. Thank you Steve for bringing it! I hope you don't miss week 2!
CHECK OUT A JOURNEY TEAM! What are journey teams? Glad you asked. They are small groups, which meet in homes, designed to help each person experience community as we go along life's journey. Food, fellowship, and group discussion takes place at journey teams. We have two journey teams that are currently meeting, Thursday nights and Sunday nights. Pick up a Journey Team Brochure this Sunday at Guest Services.
